But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Augusto Alves couldn't finish the play. Jefferson Ribeiro's late challenge caught a Urussui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Augusto Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Márcio de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

But to his dismay, Simão de Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kiko Braga got free with Daniel Tasso in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 59 minutes into the match, Eletro Power's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Augusto Alves came free, but Márcio de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Eletro Power getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Norberto Gomes hit a great ball. Márcio de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simão de Sena in the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Augusto Alves in the 71st minute of play forced Eletro Power's goalkeeper Márcio de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Tasso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Norberto Gomes went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. 77 minutes into the match, Eletro Power's goal looked a bit too open when Simão de Sena came free, but Márcio de Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jailson da Fonseca in the 80th minute of the match. Urussui's Daniel Tasso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Urussui from getting a goal against them. Carlos Augusto Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Eletro Power eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
