Marcelo Marquez started the match with the kick off. Kauã Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cacauzinho's Denílson Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Marquez in the 11th minute of play. Flávio Zonta might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Orlando Fantini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Flávio Zonta ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Zonta in the 15th minute of play forced GERA FC's goalkeeper Orlando Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flávio Zonta scored 0-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orlando Fantini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to GERA FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Leopoldo Almeida hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Sebastião Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cacauzinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GERA FC the free kick. Sebastião Quintal hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Denílson Passos made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Kauã Souza sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute, Kauã Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Fantini having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Flávio Zonta made the kick off in the second half. Almir Falcão's late challenge caught a Cacauzinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Almir Falcão helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, GERA FC's Almir Falcão got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Vágner de Almeida's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orlando Fantini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to GERA FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Haroldo Bertassi hit a great ball. Kauã Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Denílson Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Marquez might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denílson Passos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelo Marquez ran back to his position shaking his head. Orlando Fantini was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Otávio Donatello. Vágner de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Orlando Fantini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cacauzinho. After 75 played minutes GERA FC got a freekick which was hit by Almir Falcão. Alexsandro Brasil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Orlando Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Zonta in the 85th minute of play. If Vágner de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cacauzinho's Vágner de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Flávio Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, GERA FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vágner de Almeida fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cacauzinho's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
