The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for E. C. Vila Mariana. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinho de Azevedo in the 18th minute of play forced E. C. Vila Mariana's goalkeeper Nicolas Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greenpig's Claudinho de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28 minutes, Ronaldo Eger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Greenpig and the E. C. Vila Mariana players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, E. C. Vila Mariana's Abelardo Jacinto got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Leonel Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot. E. C. Vila Mariana's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Bertassi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abelardo Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Matos in the 40th minute of play forced Greenpig's goalkeeper Abelardo Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudinho de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Nicolas Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgílio Castro hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tostão Matos to strike the kick off in the second half. Nicolas Schmidt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Fantini in the 52nd minute. Claudinei Fantini kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 55thth minute. Though ot was a great shot E. C. Vila Mariana's keeper Nicolas Schmidt was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. After having played for 57 minutes, Leonel Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E. C. Vila Mariana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudinei Fantini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Nicolas Schmidt made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudinho de Azevedo during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Greenpig's Claudinho de Azevedo got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute Claudinho de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Schmidt made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Claudinei Fantini sent off a good shot on target. 76 minutes into the match, E. C. Vila Mariana's goalkeeper Nicolas Schmidt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Claudinei Fantini. E. C. Vila Mariana's Nicolas Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save E. C. Vila Mariana from getting a goal against them. Tostão Matos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, Greenpig's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Bertassi came free, but Abelardo Linares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vila Mariana's Nicolas Schmidt managed to reach the ball for a save. Tostão Matos's late challenge caught a Greenpig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tostão Matos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd match minute, E. C. Vila Mariana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão Matos to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Greenpig walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
