In the 5th minute, Falcão Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuca Dias in the 6th minute of play forced Braslandia's goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delfim Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Sá having to interfere. Delfim Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Luiz Fabiano Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delfim Freire might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fabiano Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Delfim Freire ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Delfim Freire managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C Tangará's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Freire was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fabiano Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Braslandia's Luiz Fabiano Sá played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário de Azevedo in the 18th minute of play. S.C Tangará's Váldson Pinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save S.C Tangará from getting a goal against them. Luiz Fabiano Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 32nd match minute, S.C Tangará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Aníbal Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luiz Fabiano Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Guto de Mendonça got free with Luiz Fabiano Sá in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guto de Mendonça during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Aníbal Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 64 minutes, Aníbal Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braslandia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Loyola was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Delfim Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But to his dismay, Horácio de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Samuca Dias fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C Tangará's protests and gave Samuca Dias a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in S.C Tangará fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! If Aníbal Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
