In the 17thth minute of the game Juninho Machado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nacional's Enio Bertassi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reinaldo Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Enio Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Machado struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Enio Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fama SC. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Reinaldo Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fama SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enio Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Beto de Castro's late challenge caught a Fama SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A collision led to Fama SC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Danilo Porto hit a great ball. If Dorian Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorian Trancoso was the one to do the kick off. Reinaldo Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enio Bertassi having to interfere. In the 65th minute Juninho Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enio Bertassi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fama SC fully deserved thier win.
