If Décio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Décio Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Falcão having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Profeta EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Alves to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Duarte Paraibano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oséas Paraíba, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto França in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aílton Falcão saved Barcelona FC from getting behind. 32 minutes into the match, Barcelona FC's Jarbas Barbosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oséas Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alberto França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Décio Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Aílton Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Barcelona FC's Reinaldo Ferreira got a free kick in the 38th minute. William Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oséas Paraíba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jarbas Barbosa went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. 79 minutes into the match, Duarte Paraibano notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Profeta EC's Oséas Paraíba. Oséas Paraíba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Oséas Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Paraibano, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Décio Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Profeta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Décio Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Falcão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Décio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona FC's zone, Alberto França stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aílton Falcão came out of the goal and Alberto França tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oséas Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duarte Paraibano in the 94th minute of the match. Profeta EC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Barcelona FC had won, even though Profeta EC had held more of the ball.
