When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Otávio Mangueira made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tião Rodrigues in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dorian Lara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Avante FC's Dida Velloso got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When the match clock showed 57 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Otávio Mangueira sped through Avante FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dorian Lara.
