Hernani Faria was extremely unlucky when he, in the 3rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Décio Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Zeca Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 7 minutes, Décio Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Profeta EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Décio Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto França struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Zeca Fantini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Profeta EC. In the 22nd minute, William Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Profeta EC's zone, Hernani Faria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oséas Paraíba came out of the goal and Hernani Faria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th match minute, Profeta EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto França to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th match minute, Flamengo Castilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Branco to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute Décio Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Fabrício Rosa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Profeta EC's Oséas Paraíba. Oséas Paraíba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 37th minute, Alberto França got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Décio Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Fellipe Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flamengo Castilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Profeta EC the free kick. Décio Veiga walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 45th minute, Sebastião Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47thth minute of the game Alberto França who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo Castilla's Zeca Fantini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Hernani Faria made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raimundo do Nascimento during the 50th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Profeta EC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Raimundo do Nascimento hit a great ball. Hernani Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Paraíba having to interfere. William Linhares's late challenge caught a Flamengo Castilla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Linhares helped the player get up and apologised. 58 minutes into the match, Décio Veiga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zeca Fantini, 1-2. Alberto Franças short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Zeca Fantini to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Flamengo Castilla's Sebastião Branco got a free kick in the 66th minute. Décio Veiga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zeca Fantini came out and tried to block the shot, but Décio Veiga slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 72nd minute. 1-4 became the score in the 76th minute when Alberto França elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 80 minutes, Décio Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Profeta EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Décio Veiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flamengo Castilla's Zeca Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Décio Veiga in the 85th minute of play. Fabrício Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alberto França fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Profeta EC's protests and gave Alberto França a yellow card for diving instead. Hernani Faria hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Décio Veiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zeca Fantini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Profeta EC played a much better game than Flamengo Castilla and deserved their victory. The Flamengo Castilla players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
