The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rubinho Simão kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luiz Teles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Remo Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Luiz Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Peruíbe FC's Luisão Vaz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Edgar Moreira. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. Clóvis Barral in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgar Moreira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Luiz Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcinho Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the game, Peruíbe FC's Clóvis Barral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgar Moreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a rather tough play, Peruíbe FC's Jano Cardoso got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 43rd minute Remo Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute, Giovani Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubinho Simão in the 52nd minute of play forced Roma esporte cluble's goalkeeper Edgar Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the game, Clemente Montenegro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 60 played minutes Roma esporte cluble got a freekick which was hit by Wágner Faria. After 61 minutes of play, Peruíbe FC's Luisão Vaz made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar Moreira was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 64 minutes, Dida Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peruíbe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dida Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgar Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisão Vaz in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Rubinho Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgar Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clóvis Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Peruíbe FC booed when Roma esporte cluble was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Peruíbe FC's Clóvis Barral got a free kick in the 91st minute.
