Spectators: 7373 (Terracing: 5531, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 147) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Válbson Queiroz started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Poli FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Pontes to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Poli FC's Guga Couto got a free kick in the 8th minute. Alessandro Monteiro came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Gameleira's Aloísio Rosa. But to his dismay, Aloísio Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 21st minute, Gameleira's Israel Elorri seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Israel Elorri the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gameleira protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Israel Elorri had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Geovânio Tavares walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The supporters of Poli FC booed when Gameleira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Doroftei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmílson Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Juninho Medeiros was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Gameleira's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A hard shot 31 in the game by Aloísio Rosa from a close distance when the talented Alessandro Monteiro managed to make a qualified save. Poli FC's players were relieved. Aloísio Rosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alessandro Monteiro came out and tried to block the shot, but Aloísio Rosa slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 34th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Juninho Medeiros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Alessandro Monteiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Poli FC's zone, Aloísio Rosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Monteiro came out of the goal and Aloísio Rosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Gameleira's Juninho Medeiros in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Poli FC's goalie prevented a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juninho Medeiros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aloísio Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alessandro Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aloísio Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Juninho Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aloísio Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Monteiro having to interfere. Juninho Medeiros might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alessandro Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Juninho Medeiros ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th minute, Juninho Medeiros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gameleira fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Aloísio Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A nice corner shot did that Edmund Neuber got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alessandro Monteiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 68 played minutes Poli FC got a freekick which was hit by Guga Couto. In the 69thth minute of the game Aloísio Rosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poli FC's Alessandro Monteiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gameleira's Juninho Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aloísio Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 76th minute, Guga Couto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Poli FC's Alessandro Monteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Medeiros in the 78th minute of play. Aloísio Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Alessandro Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Juninho Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alessandro Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessandro Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Rosa in the 82nd minute of the match. The supporters of Gameleira booed when Poli FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the game, Geovânio Tavares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Moacir Barbosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
