Spectators: 7222 (Terracing: 5418, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pedro Augusto Esteves started the match with the kick off. After having played for 5 minutes, Gert Vennerkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Baracaja FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert Vennerkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gert Vennerkvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gert Vennerkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cacá Barbosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Gert Vennerkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 20 played minutes Outeiro Laranja FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Perez. Gert Vennerkvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 23rd minute. Baracaja FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Platon Losada who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Cacá Barbosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Fred Cardozo fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Outeiro Laranja FC's protests and gave Fred Cardozo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Baracaja FC booed when Outeiro Laranja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Alan Meirelles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júnior Baiano. Baracaja FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alan Meirelles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Baracaja FC's Júnior Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Catarinense in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Outeiro Laranja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. Bob Firmino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cacá Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gert Vennerkvist in the 35th minute of the match. Gert Vennerkvist struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Cacá Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Baracaja FC. Outeiro Laranja FC's Cacá Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Outeiro Laranja FC from getting a goal against them. Baracaja FC's Gert Vennerkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Platon Losada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudinei Catarinense was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Baracaja FC's goalkeeper Júnior Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Platon Losada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Cacá Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Baracaja FC's goalkeeper Júnior Baiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fred Cardozo. If Pedro Augusto Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 65 minutes, Gert Vennerkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Platon Losada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Barbosa having to interfere. Cacá Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Platon Losada's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Pedro Augusto Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Barbosa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Vennerkvist in the 90th minute of play forced Outeiro Laranja FC's goalkeeper Cacá Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Baracaja FC booed when Outeiro Laranja FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baracaja FC's Bob Firmino got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chants of Outeiro Laranja FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Baracaja FC had held the ball for most of the match.
