The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juarês Coelho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Angelo Luzs short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Álvaro Rossi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Álvaro Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Albuquerque during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of VASCO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Black Sails:s goal. Jeferson Tasso shot the penalty kick right outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro do Valle in the 71st minute of play forced VASCO's goalkeeper Álvaro Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute, Mauro do Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute, Black Sails's Mauro do Valle ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Álvaro Rossi. In the 86th match minute, Black Sails was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasmo Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. Álvaro Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro do Valle in the 89th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Mauro do Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Sails's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro do Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Álvaro Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauro do Valle was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Black Sails's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Black Sails walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
