Erasmo Vergílio's late challenge caught a Toriba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erasmo Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. A hard shot by Reginaldo Maciel from long distance, 4 minutes into the match, got Zé Paulo Costa's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. A collision led to Black Sails getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Erasmo Vergílio hit a great ball. When Black Sails's Mauro do Valle in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Toriba's goalie prevented a goal. Toriba's Luiz Paulo Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Luz in the 11th minute of play. Beto Loureiro hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 1-0 became the score in the 25th minute when Claudinei Leão elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 38 played minutes Black Sails got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Vergílio. In the 39th minute, Claudinei Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 42 played minutes Black Sails got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Loureiro. Claudinei Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Zé Paulo Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Augusto Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Augusto Simões the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mauro do Valle to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Claudinei Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Black Sails's goal looked a bit too open when César Queiroz came free, but Zé Paulo Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Toriba's zone, Angelo Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Mazza came out of the goal and Angelo Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th match minute, Toriba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Toriba's zone, Angelo Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Mazza came out of the goal and Angelo Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute, Guga Meireles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Paulo Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Black Sails's goalkeeper Zé Paulo Costa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 82 played minutes Black Sails got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Vergílio. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro do Valle got free with Luiz Paulo Mazza in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mauro do Valle's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Paulo Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Reginaldo Maciel charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reginaldo Maciel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 89 minutes into the game, one of Toriba:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Luiz Paulo Mazza went to the wrong direction when Jeferson Tasso was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Mauro do Valle struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Luiz Paulo Mazza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Sails. The referee gave Toriba a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Reginaldo Maciel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Black Sails's Zé Paulo Costa. 2-0. Mauro do Valle might have been able to make a better finish in the 102nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Paulo Mazza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro do Valle ran back to his position shaking his head. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Toriba were victorious despite being under pressure from Black Sails for much of the match.
