The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Ademar Mandrak put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Massape EC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of 28 de Outubro:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adhemar Neto in the 21st minute of play forced Massape EC's goalkeeper Dorival Maciel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Massape EC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Elano Toledo hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Massape EC's goal looked a bit too open when Adhemar Neto came free, but Dorival Maciel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
