Spectators: 6700 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rafael Teixeira took the kick off in the first half of the match. Dalmo Donato hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute of the match Gildo Motta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zé de Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Capivaras's Rafael Teixeira managed to work through Itarema EC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rafael Teixeira dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Zé de Alcântara made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Mauro Teles sent off a good shot on target. In the 17thth minute of the game Rafael Teixeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itarema EC's Zé de Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Rafael Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gualter Rossi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Severo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the game, Gildo Motta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capivaras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itarema EC the free kick. A collision led to Capivaras getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Gildo Motta hit a great ball. After 26 minutes of play, Itarema EC's Arnaldo Garcia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gualter Rossi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé de Alcântara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Teixeira in the 31st minute of play. Zé de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Teixeira in the 33rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Itarema EC's Dalmo Donato got a free kick in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Teixeira in the 40th minute of play forced Itarema EC's goalkeeper Zé de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Mauro Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capivaras's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Itarema EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 42nd minute. Penalty! Gildo Motta walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Itarema EC's Zé de Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Teixeira in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kaká Severo made a kick off. Perivaldo Brasil received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gualter Rossi came out and tried to block the shot, but Perivaldo Brasil slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Mauro Teles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capivaras's supporters rose to their feet, but Mauro Teles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Itarema EC booed when Capivaras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Capivaras's goalkeeper Gualter Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká Severo. Gualter Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Brasil in the 61st minute of play. Kaká Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Rossi having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, Capivaras's goalkeeper Gualter Rossi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaká Severo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaká Severo got free with Gualter Rossi in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Capivaras's Gualter Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Capivaras from getting a goal against them. 1-3 became the score in the 72nd minute when Rafael Teixeira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, Capivaras's Gualter Rossi got control of the ball when Kaká Severo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Capivaras's Mauro Teles got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gualter Rossi was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Perivaldo Brasil capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Perivaldo Brasil really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Chants of Itarema EC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Capivaras had held the ball for most of the match.
