After 31 minutes of play, Altair FC's Bernardo Moura made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Augusto Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! Augusto Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Carlos Matos in the 35th minute of the match. Marcus Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Augusto Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bernardo Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Altair FC's Marcus Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cícero Quadros was the one to do the kick off. Nilson Quaresma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero Quadros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, Cícero Quadros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Zézinho Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Almeida having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Sidnei Dias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Antônio Carlos Matos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Augusto Almeida, 2-4. When Enéas Sá fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ca o Du's protests and gave Enéas Sá a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Ca o Du:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Altair FC:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Figueiredo during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Vidal got free with Augusto Almeida in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Bernardo Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ca o Du's goalkeeper Augusto Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Altair FC's Nilson Quaresma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cícero Quadros in the 98th minute of play. When the match was over Altair FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ca o Du throughout the match.
