Matías Capixaba hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Sidnei Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Eduardo Moreno in the 11th minute of play. Rodrigo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danilo de Senna having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Toriba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Toledo came free, but Sidnei Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Poti's Matías Capixaba suffered a concussion after 18 minutes and had to leave the field. When Luizão Cearense fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Toriba FC's protests and gave Luizão Cearense a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Toriba FC got a freekick which was hit by Luizão Cearense. In the 20th minute, Luizão Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 played minutes, Poti's Genílson Hermes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sidnei Silva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Poti reached it. A collision led to Poti getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Rubens Toledo hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Toriba FC's Wellington Pires tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Toriba FC's Sidnei Silva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Eduardo Moreno in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, Fabiano Saraiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toriba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poti the free kick. Fabiano Saraiva kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo Moreno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Poti's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Pimenta came free, but Danilo de Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Rodrigo Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Toriba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Pimenta couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Poti's zone, Cícero Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danilo de Senna came out of the goal and Cícero Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th match minute, Poti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Correia to maneuver through the defense. In the 40th minute, Toriba FC's Rodrigo Pimenta ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Danilo de Senna. Danilo de Senna yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Rodrigo Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Rodrigo Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Danilo de Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aílton Pena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Danilo de Senna. Poti's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Danilo de Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cícero Breckenfeld went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 61st minute Cícero Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danilo de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Poti's Carlos Eduardo Moreno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidnei Silva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the match, Toriba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Toledo came free, but Sidnei Silva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cícero Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Poti getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Pedro Paulo Coutinho hit a great ball. Sidnei Silva was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Leopoldo Vale. If Rodrigo Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodrigo Pimenta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rodrigo Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Toriba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Pimenta couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Poti booed when Toriba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Carlos Eduardo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Toriba FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
