Cléberson Meirelles ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Viannopolis FC's zone, Gil Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho Pena came out of the goal and Gil Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Viannopolis FC's Dinei Sampaio in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Platelmintes FC booed when Viannopolis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 59th minute, Cléberson Meirelles fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Fernandinho Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Platelmintes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cléberson Meirelles came free, but Jonas Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinei Sampaio got free with Jonas Moura in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 73 in the game by Dinei Sampaio from a close distance when the talented Jonas Moura managed to make a qualified save. Platelmintes FC's players were relieved. In the 85th play minute Dinei Sampaio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonas Moura. 0-3. Dinei Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cléber Schmidt's late challenge caught a Platelmintes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cléber Schmidt helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes Viannopolis FC got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Schmidt. After 95 minutes of play Platelmintes FC's Almir Pontes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. When the match was over Viannopolis FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Platelmintes FC throughout the match.
