A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Adhemar Aparecido charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adhemar Aparecido the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Timorande getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Angelo Sá hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Adhemar Aparecido managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timorande's supporters rose to their feet, but Adhemar Aparecido was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Mello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Timorande booed when Caldeiroes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorian Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Paulista in the 33rd minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Timorande's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro de Azevedo came free, but Wágner Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Orlando Paulista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wágner Fonseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 43rd match minute, Caldeiroes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro de Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when João Pedro de Azevedo made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Caldeiroes's João Pedro de Azevedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wágner Fonseca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Caldeiroes's Orlando Paulista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wágner Fonseca. That made the score 0-3 after 58 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Peixoto in the 61st minute of play forced Caldeiroes's goalkeeper Mário Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Orlando Paulista kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. João Pedro de Azevedo's late challenge caught a Timorande's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Pedro de Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. 68 minutes into the match, Timorande's goal looked a bit too open when João Pedro de Azevedo came free, but Wágner Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Fonseca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Orlando Paulista went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. If João Pedro de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caldeiroes's Orlando Paulista was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 81st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. João Pedro de Azevedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Wágner Fonseca came out and tried to block the shot, but João Pedro de Azevedo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 87th minute. Cláudio de Godoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Wágner Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
