The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fiori Fantini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in champion's zone, Jaime Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didi Velloso came out of the goal and Jaime Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute Paulo Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Pinho got free with Didi Velloso in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, Nelsinho Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. champion's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Campeche FC the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Pinho got free with Didi Velloso in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
