Cléberson Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Doriva Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Fabrício Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, SE PALMEIRAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Doriva Sanches to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the game, Vila Ildemar FC's Silas Damião nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leandro Moraes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Kléberson Netto in the 32nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SE PALMEIRAS's Eugênio Hermes. After 33 minutes, Valdir Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Ildemar FC and the SE PALMEIRAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vila Ildemar FC's Valdir Salgado got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Fabrício Linhares was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cléberson Cardoso. In the 40th minute, Cléberson Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Vila Ildemar FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silas Damião to strike the kick off in the second half. After 63 played minutes SE PALMEIRAS got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Zanette. Kléberson Netto made in the 74th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by SE PALMEIRAS's André Luiz Pires. A collision led to SE PALMEIRAS getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Doriva Sanches hit a great ball. Doriva Sanches took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabrício Linhares. Fabrício Linhares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Fabrício Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sérgio Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Sérgio Moreira scored 2-1 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabrício Linhares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Doriva Sanches struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Fabrício Linhares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SE PALMEIRAS. Vila Ildemar FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
