In the 2nd match minute, Valentina SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guilherme Esteves to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Fernandez in the 8th minute of play forced Valentina SC's goalkeeper Fernando Henrique to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Willian Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Armandinho Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaltino Nevess short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Fernando Henrique to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 20 minutes into the match, Valentina SC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Fernandez came free, but Fernando Henrique reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeiras's Maurício Marquez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armandinho Barral in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Valentina SC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Murilo Vale hit a great ball. Luiz Fernando Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Fernando Henrique tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 32 minutes, Gilberto Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmeiras and the Valentina SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Palmeiras! The referee gave Valentina SC a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Horácio Secco, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Palmeiras's Maurício Marquez. 0-1. Maurício Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armandinho Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Baiano during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 41st minute, Zé Baiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Armandinho Barral made the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes of play, Palmeiras's Isaltino Neves made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernando Henrique was left in no man's land by his defense there! Palmeiras's Isaltino Neves got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernando Henrique took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fernando Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Isaltino Neves came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Palmeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isaltino Neves couldn't finish the play. Isaltino Neves struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Fernando Henrique didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras. Murilo Vale's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Maurício Marquez firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 72nd match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diogo de Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Maurício Marquez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Isaltino Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fernando Henrique. Valentina SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaltino Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Isaltino Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Fernando Henrique tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Umberto Santos hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaltino Neves in the 82nd minute of play forced Valentina SC's goalkeeper Fernando Henrique to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 87 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Isaltino Neves sped through Valentina SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernando Henrique. Thanks to some nice moves Murilo Vale could shoot a difficult shot in the 92nd minute, which Maurício Marquez however easily saved by the left post. If Isaltino Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Valentina SC's Leonardo Arósio got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the referee ended the match the Palmeiras players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
