In the 29th minute Joélson Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Magalhães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joélson Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Hílton Magalhães made a huge save. After some careless play in the tupã defense, João Augusto de Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredinho Gaúcho. The tupã fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredinho Gaúcho should have stopped the shot. Hílton Magalhães came out of the goal and Joélson Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A long shot from Chiquinho Recife in the 42nd minute of play was well struck, but Hílton Magalhães made a really good save at the right post. In the 46thth minute of the game Joélson Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Geada SS's Hílton Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joélson Correia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hílton Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Geada SS to win.
