The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristiano Messias came out of the goal and Joélson Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cristiano Messias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 36th minute, Chico Prado made a precise shot to the right of Cristiano Messias. Corinthians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 42nd minute Joélson Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristiano Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joélson Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Cristiano Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goal looked a bit too open when Chico Prado came free, but Cristiano Messias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
