The referee showed Leandro Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Geada SS's zone, Diguinho Netto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hílton Magalhães came out of the goal and Diguinho Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Augusto de Carvalho hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dorival Medeiros to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Evandro Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geada SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Evandro Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Saraiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edmundo Saraiva made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Evandro Godoi sent off a good shot on target.
