In the 6th minute of the match, Edmundo Cardozo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zé Pedro Leite saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Bujaru EC fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Bujaru EC's Manoel Guimarães looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gustavo Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Zé Pedro Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Márcio Cruz lost his temper 18 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fluminense FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Zé Pedro Leite, was totally fooled by Bujaru EC's Adelino de Alcântara, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Manoel Guimarães let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 23rd minute shot 3-0 at rihgt post. In the 28th minute, Betão Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Augusto Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bujaru EC's Edmundo Cardozo got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Manoel Guimarães recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Zé Pedro Leite. Manoel Guimarães showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. A collision led to Bujaru EC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Elói de Lara hit a great ball. Bujaru EC's João Augusto Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guga Pimenta in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. If Betão Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Augusto Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Souto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but João Augusto Vidal made a huge save. Zé Pedro Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Cardozo in the 61st minute of the match. Betão Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Augusto Vidal having to interfere. Mário Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Pedro Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manoel Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Zé Pedro Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elói de Lara in the 73rd minute of play. Zé Paulo Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Bujaru EC booed when Fluminense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adelino de Alcântara, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jailson Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Bujaru EC's Luiz Fábio Mendonça got a free kick in the 85th minute. Ernesto Souto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Manoel Guimarães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zé Pedro Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When Mário Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Fluminense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Jacinto couldn't finish the play. Bujaru EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
