Víktor Ortiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Cristóvão Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Víktor Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Lucas in the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of Greenback Boogie SC booed when Icatu SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelsinho Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristóvão Pires in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Víktor Ortiz saved Icatu SC from getting behind. Greenback Boogie SC's Cristóvão Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Icatu SC got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Soeiro. With a little luck, Greenback Boogie SC's Hortêncio Zanette got control of the ball when Chico Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cristóvão Pires sped through Icatu SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Víktor Ortiz. After 30 minutes, Cristóvão Pires made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Icatu SC's Víktor Ortiz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Víktor Ortiz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristóvão Pires's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. If Cristóvão Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Greenback Boogie SC's Hortêncio Zanette proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Greenback Boogie SC from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabiano da Silveira made a kick off. Hortêncio Zanette took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Icatu SC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Amílton Teles hit a great ball. Cristóvão Pires who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Víktor Ortiz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 87thth minute of the game Cristóvão Pires who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Icatu SC's Víktor Ortiz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristóvão Pires's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 90thth minute, Víktor Ortiz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cristóvão Pires blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Víktor Ortiz having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Greenback Boogie SC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Icatu SC.
