The supporters of MelissaMel booed when Itapipoca SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thiago Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dino do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 played minutes, MelissaMel's Yan Rodrigues shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Osmar da Silveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MelissaMel reached it. Delfim Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Edvaldo Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Rodrigo Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osmar da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dino do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Itapipoca SS's Osmar da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino do Valle in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute of the match Romário Domingues shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Osmar da Silveira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Genílson Alvarenga hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Rodrigo Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dino do Valle in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osmar da Silveira saved Itapipoca SS from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Itapipoca SS's Genílson Alvarenga got a free kick in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benjamim Ramos to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodrigo Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Osmar da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 64th minute, Rodrigo Reis fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Edvaldo Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Delfim Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamim Ramos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edvaldo Salles having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Delfim Tróia in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo Salles saved MelissaMel from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Itapipoca SS's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Reis came free, but Osmar da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st match minute, Itapipoca SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcus Pena to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Rodrigo Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
