Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) In the 8th minute, Jânio Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnaldo Trigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. The supporters of Cancela booed when Cruzeiro S.A was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Robinho Castro came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Cruzeiro S.A fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robinho Castro couldn't finish the play. Arnaldo Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Belmiro Varela's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto Araújo in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Trigo saved Cancela from getting behind. Nilton Mattos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Cruzeiro S.A getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Nilton Mattos hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Robinho Castro sped through Cancela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arnaldo Trigo. Arnaldo Trigo came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro S.A's Robinho Castro. But to his dismay, Robinho Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Cruzeiro S.A's Jarbas Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willian Arruda in the 34th minute of play. Arnaldo Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Araújo in the 36th minute of play. If Nilton Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robinho Castro's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. In the 40th minute, Willian Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Araújo in the 47th minute of play forced Cancela's goalkeeper Arnaldo Trigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacinto Araújo was the one to do the kick off. Jacinto Araújo made a great header on Cruzeiro S.A's corner, it was just that Cancela's Arnaldo Trigo managed to reach the ball for a save. Arnaldo Trigo made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Nilton Mattos sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Victor Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cruzeiro S.A's supporters rose to their feet, but Victor Bertassi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Cancela's Willian Tavares got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Victor Bertassi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 63 played minutes Jacinto Araújo rounded Cancela's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. Victor Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnaldo Trigo came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro S.A's Robinho Castro. But to his dismay, Robinho Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jânio Goiano in the 72nd minute of play forced Cruzeiro S.A's goalkeeper Jarbas Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnaldo Trigo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Araújo's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Jarbas Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jânio Goiano in the 75th minute of play. Cruzeiro S.A's Victor Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Robinho Castro got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Robinho Castros short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Arnaldo Trigo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nilton Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Trigo having to interfere. Victor Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Arnaldo Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Cancela's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Araújo came free, but Arnaldo Trigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilton Mattos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Arnaldo Trigo came out and tried to block the shot, but Nilton Mattos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 90th minute. When Cruzeiro S.A's Victor Bertassi in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cancela's goalie prevented a goal. After 95 minutes of play, Cruzeiro S.A's Robinho Castro made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnaldo Trigo was left in no man's land by his defense there!
