Diogo Eger was a little too slow when Paulo Paranaense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-2. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Mesquita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the M1to Paulista FC defense, Carlos Fernando Salgado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Mesquita. The M1to Paulista FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Mesquita should have stopped the shot. Tupipano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Walmyr Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Paranaense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Fernando Salgado was the one to do the kick off.
