Zé Pedro Furtado spun around in front of the goal 4 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Black Cat FC's goal. In the 8thth minute of the game Zé Pedro Furtado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Black Cat FC's Jacinto Rede was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 11 minutes, Osvaldo Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Black Cat FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Osvaldo Britto put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Percy Hermes. Morellato FC's Percy Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorginho Vargas in the 16th minute of play. A collision led to Morellato FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Cássio Sá hit a great ball. In the 19th minute of the match Gabrian Batistuta shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Percy Hermes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Osvaldo Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Percy Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Osvaldo Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Percy Hermes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Téo do Nascimento in the 28th minute of the match. Zé Pedro Furtado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacinto Rede having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Jorginho Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Black Cat FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Vargas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Hermes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Percy Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Morellato FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Black Cat FC were winning 0-2.

52 minutes into the match, Black Cat FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Furtado came free, but Jacinto Rede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Morellato FC's Percy Hermes got control of the ball when Jorginho Vargas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Black Cat FC's Osvaldo Britto got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the game, Flavinho Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player.
