When Alfredinho Neiva fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nordeste Tech ES's protests and gave Alfredinho Neiva a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Fluminense FC booed when Nordeste Tech ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredinho Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Gonçalo Guerra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manoel Sampaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Alex Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Demesio, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. If Maximiliano Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximiliano Demesio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Alex Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Netto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovanni Fantini went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. Alfredinho Neiva hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Maximiliano Demesio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fluminense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Demesio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute, Nordeste Tech ES's Alfredinho Neiva dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-2. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Fluminense FC had played much better football throughout.
