In the 5th minute, José Vítor Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Acácio Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Salvarano getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Wiliam Vargas hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Audax Paulista defense, José Vítor Vidal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Acácio Vianna. The Audax Paulista fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Acácio Vianna should have stopped the shot. In the 19th minute Pedro Luís Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renatinho Favoretto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Vítor Vidal hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Angelo Mandrak made a kick off. Angelo Mandrak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agnaldo Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Renatinho Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís Abreu in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Danilo Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 67 minutes, Maicon Munhoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Audax Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maicon Munhoz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
