Osvaldinho Madureira started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Igor Martins was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tricolor dos Pampas FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Palhoça the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Tricolor dos Pampas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Igor Martins to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Tricolor dos Pampas FC's Jairo Peres got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 10th minute, Cosme Fonda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Senna in the 12th minute of play forced Deportivo Palhoça's goalkeeper Cacá Munhoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Palhoça's goalkeeper Cacá Munhoz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 19 played minutes Tricolor dos Pampas FC got a freekick which was hit by Téo Pinheiro. After 27 minutes, Téo Pinheiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tricolor dos Pampas FC and the Deportivo Palhoça players grew even worse after the yellow card. A hard shot 31 in the game by Osvaldinho Madureira from a close distance when the talented Luís Paulo Silva managed to make a qualified save. Tricolor dos Pampas FC's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Tricolor dos Pampas FC's zone, Cosme Fonda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Paulo Silva came out of the goal and Cosme Fonda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osvaldinho Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Deportivo Palhoça's Enrique Lima slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luís Paulo Silva. That made the score 1-0 after 39 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jairo Peres was the one to do the kick off. If Osvaldinho Madureira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the game, Deportivo Palhoça's Cosme Fonda nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Paulo Silva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Deportivo Palhoça's Enrique Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Osvaldinho Madureira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Deportivo Palhoça was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Moreno to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Cosme Fonda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 83rd minute Cícero Loureiro suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Cosme Fonda charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cosme Fonda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 84th minute, Cosme Fonda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvaldinho Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Luís Paulo Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deportivo Palhoça's Cacá Munhoz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Palhoça from getting a goal against them. Luís Paulo Silva came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo Palhoça's Osvaldinho Madureira. But to his dismay, Osvaldinho Madureira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 95th minute, Osvaldinho Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Deportivo Palhoça walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
