The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Deportivo Palhoça's Cosme Fonda in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sambaqui's goalie prevented a goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience held their breath when Paulinho Moreno in the 52nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Waldir Sá's left hand side. Waldir Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuca Paraense, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Cosme Fonda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the game, Cosme Fonda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Palhoça's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sambaqui the free kick. Cosme Fonda kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Sambaqui's Valdir Loureiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cacá Munhoz.
