Natanael Perez started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Natanael Perez in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edson Ferreira saved Maricoabo from getting behind. If Gilson Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arlindo Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilson Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Nicolas Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Perez in the 20th minute of play forced Maricoabo's goalkeeper Edson Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edson Ferreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolas Ceresso in the 22nd minute. Robinho Leite kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Birutas FC's Nicolas Ceresso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edson Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 35th match minute, Maricoabo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Pernambucano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicolas Ceresso got free with Edson Ferreira in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Maricoabo's Arthur Cavalcante got a free kick in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Pernambucano in the 59th minute of play forced Maricoabo's goalkeeper Edson Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edson Ferreira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natanael Perez's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Edson Ferreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Ceresso, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Edson Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Ceresso in the 73rd minute of the match. Arlindo Albuquerque made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilson Messias in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Birutas FC's zone, Nando Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Albuquerque came out of the goal and Nando Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Gilson Messias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maricoabo's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilson Messias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Albuquerque breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oscar Pernambucano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edson Ferreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Maricoabo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Birutas FC.
