Spectators: 7181 (Terracing: 5388, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 142) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gino Palmeira took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd match minute, Veneciano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí Sanches to maneuver through the defense. Flavinho Macedo's late challenge caught a Goitizeiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flavinho Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th minute, Flavinho Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 8 minutes, Leopoldo Seco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goitizeiro and the Veneciano players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 8 played minutes Goitizeiro got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Seco. In a very dangerous position, a player in Veneciano fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! In the 16th minute, Goitizeiro got a penalty, and Marcelo Donatello placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. 20 minutes into the match, Goitizeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Adrianinho Vinhas came free, but João Paulo Loureiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Tostão Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th match minute, Veneciano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aloísio de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. In the 36thth minute of the game Gino Palmeira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Veneciano's Arlindo Alvarenga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 36 minutes, Gino Palmeira made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Veneciano's Arlindo Alvarenga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrianinho Vinhas in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Paulo Loureiro saved Goitizeiro from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Goitizeiro's Leopoldo Seco got a free kick in the 41st minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adrianinho Vinhas to make the kick off. Arlindo Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Goitizeiro's Gino Palmeira. But to his dismay, Gino Palmeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Falcão Quirino struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. João Paulo Loureiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Veneciano. In the 74th minute, Tostão Porto made a precise shot to the right of Arlindo Alvarenga. Veneciano's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Gino Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Alvarenga having to interfere. Tarcisio Baptista was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 90 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 90th minute of the game. One of Goitizeiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Veneciano:s goal. 4-1 came through a penalty shot after 93 played minutes, when Veneciano:s Flávio Sarmento calmly waited for Goitizeiro:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. If Falcão Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 99th minute, Leopoldo Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Goitizeiro were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Veneciano for a fine match.
