Muricizal EC's Amadeu Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Luz in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Muricizal EC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Dudu Negri hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Régis Pitta in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júlio Branco saved Solar Paulistano from getting behind. 31 minutes into the game, Muricizal EC's Diguinho Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Branco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 37th minute, Diguinho Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Fábio Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Luz in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeu Mangueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Solar Paulistano's Severino Luz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Amadeu Mangueira. That made the score 1-1 after 46 minutes of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Régis Pitta made the kick off in the second half. Muricizal EC's Amadeu Mangueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fábio Nascimento in the 53rd minute of play. Diguinho Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Régis Pitta fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Júlio Branco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Régis Pitta in the 82nd minute of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Régis Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muricizal EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Régis Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Despite being the better team, Muricizal EC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
