Guarulight F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iordache Sava was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guarulight F.C's Almir Borges pulled a muscle in his back after 7 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 7 minutes, Marcus Mota mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muricizal EC and the Guarulight F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guarulight F.C's Rômulo Paranaense was substituted for Almir Borges. After a defensive mix-up in Muricizal EC's zone, Iordache Sava stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Mangueira came out of the goal and Iordache Sava tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matías Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. William Donato hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Diguinho Santos struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Vitinho Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Muricizal EC. In the 22nd match minute, Guarulight F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Brasil to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 31 minutes, Matías Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Amadeu Mangueira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Matías Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 53rd minute of the match Muricizal EC got a corner. Guarulight F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Leonardo Gomes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Muricizal EC's Régis Pitta to fire away a dangerous shot which Vitinho Paes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Iordache Sava came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Guarulight F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Sava couldn't finish the play. William Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iordache Sava, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After some careless play in the Muricizal EC defense, Matías Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeu Mangueira. The Muricizal EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amadeu Mangueira should have stopped the shot. Matías Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Amadeu Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sandrinho Rodrigues hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Iordache Sava fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Mangueira having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Muricizal EC got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Negri. 82 minutes into the game, Guarulight F.C's William Donato nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amadeu Mangueira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Matías Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Amadeu Mangueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Wiliam Sabóia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Muricizal EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guarulight F.C the free kick. In the 88th minute, Wiliam Sabóia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Giuseppe Brasil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guarulight F.C's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
