The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Washington Corrêa was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Toledo Esporte Clube's Washington Corrêa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luiz Fabiano Donatello. That made the score 1-2 after 58 minutes of play. 63 minutes into the match, Dadá Sergipano notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Toledo Esporte Clube's Kléber Lopez. Kléber Lopez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Washington Corrêa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Fabiano Donatello having to make a save. Toledo Esporte Clube's João Augusto Rezende shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Luiz Fabiano Donatello but with some difficulty. Wágner Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Donatello having to interfere. Kléber Lopez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cícero Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Dadá Sergipano might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kléber Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dadá Sergipano ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Toledo Esporte Clube defense, Cícero Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kléber Lopez. The Toledo Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kléber Lopez should have stopped the shot. If Washington Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléber Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. São Paulo F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
