After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Cícero Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ismael de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Sergipano in the 7th minute of play forced BRC Weed Dogs MZC's goalkeeper Ismael de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Hjortstrøm could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Luiz Fabiano Donatello made a huge save. Ismael de Alcântara came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo F.C.'s Dadá Sergipano. But to his dismay, Dadá Sergipano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to BRC Weed Dogs MZC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Erivaldo Pena hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cícero Azevedo in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ismael de Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Dadá Sergipano came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the São Paulo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dadá Sergipano couldn't finish the play. Ismael de Alcântara came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo F.C.'s Cícero Azevedo. But to his dismay, Cícero Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ismael de Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cícero Azevedo in the 34th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes São Paulo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Diego Porto. Ismael de Alcântara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The BRC Weed Dogs MZC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. São Paulo F.C. were winning 0-4.

The crowd rose to their feet as São Paulo F.C.'s Cícero Azevedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ismael de Alcântara. That made the score 0-5 after 52 minutes of play. Waldir Vander hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute of the match Erivaldo Pena shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Fabiano Donatello showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erivaldo Pena during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th match minute, BRC Weed Dogs MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erivaldo Pena to maneuver through the defense. Dadá Sergipano was extremely unlucky when he, in the 61st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Waldir Vander fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São Paulo F.C.'s protests and gave Waldir Vander a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, São Paulo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir Vander to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo F.C.'s zone, Richard Hjortstrøm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Fabiano Donatello came out of the goal and Richard Hjortstrøm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The São Paulo F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing São Paulo F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
