After having played for 3 minutes, Washington Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toledo Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Washington Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cícero Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Lopez having to interfere. After having played for 11 minutes, Cícero Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 15th match minute, Toledo Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexsandro Gaúcho to maneuver through the defense. Cícero Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Kléber Lopez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Paulo F.C.. Wágner Nunes hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Dadá Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kléber Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Sergipano in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Washington Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Toledo Esporte Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave São Paulo F.C. the free kick. In the 37th minute, Washington Corrêa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kléber Lopez came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo F.C.'s Dadá Sergipano. But to his dismay, Dadá Sergipano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cícero Azevedo made a kick off. Dadá Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléber Lopez having to interfere. In the 54th minute of the match Gualter Quadros sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luiz Fabiano Donatello skillfully saved the ball. If Washington Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fabiano Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wágner Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Fabiano Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Washington Corrêa in the 68th minute of the match. Alexsandro Gaúcho hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Kléber Lopez came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by São Paulo F.C.'s Dadá Sergipano. But to his dismay, Dadá Sergipano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. São Paulo F.C.'s Luiz Fabiano Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Corrêa in the 81st minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Washington Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toledo Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Washington Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kléber Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Azevedo in the 89th minute of play. If Washington Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cícero Azevedo in the 94th minute of play forced Toledo Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Kléber Lopez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Toledo Esporte Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching São Paulo F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for São Paulo F.C..
