Ricardo Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiaguinho Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Tiaguinho Meira put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ricardo Cavalcante. In the 22nd minute, Juan Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ativa Sport Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 26th match minute, Serieme was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelinho do Valle to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Vianna in the 27th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiaguinho Meira in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Cavalcante prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the match, Tiaguinho Meira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricardo Cavalcante. Serieme's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiaguinho Meira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Ricardo Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrão Leal in the 34th minute of play. If Tiaguinho Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tiaguinho Meira came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ativa Sport Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiaguinho Meira couldn't finish the play. Serieme's Ricardo Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrão Leal in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Ativa Sport Club booed when Serieme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho do Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Serieme players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ativa Sport Club were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Tiaguinho Meira made the kick off in the second half. Sidnei Vianna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Cavalcante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Pedrão Leal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ricardo Cavalcante firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 69th minute Sidnei Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Gustavo Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ativa Sport Club booed when Serieme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Silveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedrão Leal got free with Ricardo Cavalcante in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcelinho do Valle was shown his second yellow card after 97 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Ativa Sport Club booed when Serieme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelinho do Valle didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded Ativa Sport Club left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Serieme.
