Nuguacu
Spectators: 7250 (Terracing: 5439, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sílvio Luís Baptista got the match started through his kick off. If André Luiz Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute Sílvio Luís Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th match minute, Nuguacu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wiliam Travassos to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Engenho defense, Gernando Cordeiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Toninho Leme. The Engenho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Toninho Leme should have stopped the shot. 15 minutes into the game, Vitinho Rezende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Engenho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nuguacu the free kick. In the 15th minute, Vitinho Rezende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Engenho's Toninho Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gláuber Queirós in the 16th minute of play. Gil Vaz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luiz Brito's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. When Engenho's Sílvio Luís Baptista in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nuguacu's goalie prevented a goal. André Luiz Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Gil Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luiz Brito in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Nuguacu's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís Baptista came free, but Gil Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When William Freitas fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nuguacu's protests and gave William Freitas a yellow card for diving instead. William Freitas hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Sílvio Luís Baptista scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gil Vaz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rdth minute of the game André Luiz Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nuguacu's Gil Vaz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. André Luiz Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Gernando Cordeiro took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Toninho Leme to make any attempt to save it. Natanael Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toninho Leme having to interfere.

The wind increased when Gláuber Queirós made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Nuguacu's Gil Vaz got control of the ball when André Luiz Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 54th minute, Engenho's Sílvio Luís Baptista dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Toninho Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Soares in the 58th minute of play. Engenho's Sílvio Luís Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vitinho Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Rezende could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Gil Vaz made a huge save. The supporters of Engenho booed when Nuguacu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, William Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Nuguacu's zone, André Luiz Brito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Vaz came out of the goal and André Luiz Brito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Engenho's Vitinho Rezende got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vitinho Rezende blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gil Vaz having to make a save. Vitinho Rezende might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil Vaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vitinho Rezende ran back to his position shaking his head. 81 minutes into the game, Vitinho Rezende recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gil Vaz. Vitinho Rezende showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Sílvio Luís Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Vaz stood somewhat misplaced when Adelino Luz came free in front of goal and shot 2-4 to the left of him in the 92 minute. When the final whistle sounded Engenho left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Nuguacu.
