Hélder Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 8th minute, Zé Paulo Peixoto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nordestina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Durval Mandrak charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Durval Mandrak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Nordestina getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Durval Mandrak hit a great ball. Armandinho Tróia made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Walmyr Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. 14 minutes into the game, Filipe Coelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nordestina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carrancas E.C. the free kick. In the 14th match minute, Nordestina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Coelho to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Walmyr Bertassi sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Armandinho Tróia threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Walmyr Bertassi this time. Zé Paulo Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Eriberto Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Zé Paulo Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Michel Paulista might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armandinho Tróia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michel Paulista ran back to his position shaking his head. Armandinho Tróia made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Hélder Vergílio sent off a good shot on target. If Michel Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hélder Vergílio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Armandinho Tróia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Nordestina getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Hamílton de Godoi hit a great ball. Hélder Vergílio might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armandinho Tróia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélder Vergílio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th minute, Michel Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michel Paulista made a kick off. Hélder Vergílio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Armandinho Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lenílson de Sena during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. During the 57th minute of the match Durval Mandrak completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Durval Mandrak a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 57th minute, Durval Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandro Duarte's late challenge caught a Carrancas E.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Duarte helped the player get up and apologised. Walmyr Bertassi, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Armandinho Tróia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Hélder Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Armandinho Tróia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Vergílio in the 77th minute of the match. After 80 played minutes Nordestina got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Coelho. Hélder Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Vergílio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Armandinho Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hélder Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nordestina were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Carrancas E.C.'s much stronger midfield.
