After having played for 2 minutes, Hélio Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRAC FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chicão Capixaba came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by CRAC FC's Júlio Maranhense. But to his dismay, Júlio Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 9 played minutes CRAC FC got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Donato. In the 17th match minute, CRAC FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Rocha to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 18 minutes, Luizão Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Locomotives's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luizão Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Souza in the 25th minute of play forced Locomotives's goalkeeper Chicão Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Locomotives booed when CRAC FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nico Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Brodel in the 27th minute of play. Júlio Maranhense scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chicão Capixaba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chicão Capixaba came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by CRAC FC's Júlio Maranhense. But to his dismay, Júlio Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Chicão Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Souza in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Locomotives's Frederico Vinhas got a free kick in the 38th minute. Júlio Maranhense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Júlio Maranhense notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Locomotives's Chicão Capixaba. Chicão Capixaba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hélio Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, CRAC FC's Ronaldinho Veiga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Chicão Capixaba. Chicão Capixaba yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. In the 61st minute Francisco Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nico Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nico Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruno Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With his leg Chicão Capixaba managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when CRAC FC's Júlio Maranhense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When CRAC FC's Júlio Maranhense, in the 75th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for CRAC FC. 78 minutes into the match, CRAC FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luizão Maranhense came free, but Nico Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aníbal Rocha hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Júlio Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRAC FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Locomotives's Chicão Capixaba got control of the ball when Júlio Maranhense tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chicão Capixaba made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Júlio Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. Chicão Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
