When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisinho Godoi made a kick off. Grêmio IGFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 92nd minute, Alexandre Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisinho Godoi in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Álvaro Velasco saved Grêmio IGFC from getting behind. The Taboca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Taboca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
