In the 14th minute of the match Thomás Damião shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Valladares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Clube Atlético Gaúcho's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Zézinho Gomes 15 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Anderson Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Manfredo Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manfredo Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anderson Cruz's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 33rd minute Naldo da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clube Atlético Gaúcho's Marcos Valladares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo da Fonseca in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Gaúcho's Joélson Castro got a free kick in the 39th minute. Cristiano Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olívio de Lara got free with Marcos Valladares in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Anderson Cruz made the kick off in the second half. Waldemar Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute of the match Thomás Damião sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Valladares skillfully saved the ball. Manfredo Macedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anderson Cruz went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 70 minutes into the game, Palmeiras Piatã FC's Naldo da Fonseca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Valladares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. If Anderson Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. Anderson Cruz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manfredo Macedo having to make a save. The supporters of Palmeiras Piatã FC booed when Clube Atlético Gaúcho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Gaúcho's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Gomes came free, but Marcos Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anderson Cruz struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Manfredo Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube Atlético Gaúcho. Clube Atlético Gaúcho succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Palmeiras Piatã FC had controlled the match.
