With a left leg Germano Sarmento saved SuperCampeõesRJ from getting behind. In the 12th minute, Eliseu de Souza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aloísio Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 19 minutes, Carlinhos Messias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SuperCampeõesRJ and the Alcatéia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vitinho Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Sarmento having to interfere. Germano Sarmento was a little too slow when Frédson de Carvalho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-1. After having played for 30 minutes, Anderson Furtado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alcatéia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anderson Furtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SuperCampeõesRJ's Luís Donato got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilson Paraíba was the one to do the kick off. Anderson Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ronaldão Hoffmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Aloísio Vasconcelos made a huge save. In the 59th minute, SuperCampeõesRJ's Eliseu de Souza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aloísio Vasconcelos. Aloísio Vasconcelos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Germano Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anderson Furtado's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 67th minute Anderson Furtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Germano Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Germano Sarmento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rogério de Barros's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. In the 71stth minute of the game Anderson Furtado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SuperCampeõesRJ's Germano Sarmento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Germano Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitinho Leão in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th minute Sérgio Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aloísio Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldão Hoffmann's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aloísio Vasconcelos firmly grabbed it by the left post. Aloísio Vasconcelos was a little too slow when Eliseu de Souza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-4. Germano Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Leão in the 85th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilson Paraíba in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aloísio Vasconcelos saved Alcatéia FC from getting behind. If Gilson Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Rogério de Barros fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alcatéia FC's protests and gave Rogério de Barros a yellow card for diving instead. Rogério de Barros hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Luís Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Alcatéia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu de Souza came free, but Aloísio Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chants of SuperCampeõesRJ echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Alcatéia FC had held the ball for most of the match.
