An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Abraão in the 13th minute of play forced Iguai FC's goalkeeper Jailson de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dagoberto Quintal in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jailson de Sena saved Iguai FC from getting behind. Jailson de Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Marcos Messias put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jailson de Sena. Paulinho Junior made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adalberto Fantini in the 24th minute. In the 25th match minute, Iguai FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Passos to maneuver through the defense. If Dagoberto Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Costas's goalkeeper Paulinho Junior had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalberto Fantini. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Dagoberto Quintal sped through Iguai FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jailson de Sena. Jailson de Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dagoberto Quintal in the 39th minute of play. After 42 minutes, Dagoberto Quintal made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Iguai FC's Jailson de Sena tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Costas booed when Iguai FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luizão Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dagoberto Quintal to strike the kick off in the second half. Dagoberto Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson de Sena having to interfere. Costas's Marcos Messias got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adalberto Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Paulinho Junior tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adalberto Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulinho Junior having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Luizão Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Costas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomás Travassos to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Jailson de Sena managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Costas's Dagoberto Quintal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A well-hit corner resulted in Marcos Messias heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Iguai FC's Jailson de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Iguai FC from getting a goal against them. After 82 played minutes Iguai FC got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Zonta. Luizão Passos's late challenge caught a Costas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luizão Passos helped the player get up and apologised. Luizão Passos hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagoberto Quintal got free with Jailson de Sena in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Adalberto Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
